The second installment of Reimagining Work-Life series focuses on the renaissance of Oakland and what it offers corporate occupiers and their employees. An eclectic panel moderated by Oakland SPUR Director Robert Ogilvie will discuss how Oakland delivers those elements necessary to create a healthy work/life balance. We will explore how Oakland has changed through this last cycle and how it is managing economic development, job and population growth while trying to balance cultural identity and placemaking with diversity and social equity. This event will take place in the heart of the re-energized downtown at SPUR Oakland on Broadway with easy walking access from both 12th Street and 19th Street BART locations.
Confirmed Speakers:
Robert Ogilvie, SPUR
Rachel Flynn, City of Oakland
David Kirkland, Comfy
Kennard Perry, The Swig Company

About the Series
The San Francisco Bay Area has a rich history of dreamers, creators, and visionaries. From cable cars to autonomous vehicles and from microprocessors to virtual reality, our region has long been the home of brave experimentation and innovation. This constant change and pressure on land use, transportation and cost presents as many challenges as opportunities for corporate real estate teams. Join CoreNet Global’s Northern California Chapter and SPUR (www.spur.org) in a series of programs in San Jose, Oakland and San Francisco to re-imagine Work-Life in the Bay Area – and learn more about what these cities are doing to create a more attractive offering to us as companies and communities.
