Young Leaders Membership Drive-Back to Basics – So, you need space… Now!

When:  Jan 29, 2015 from 05:00 PM to 08:00 PM (PT)
Associated with  Northern California

A panel of industry experts will walk through some of the primary elements involved in acquiring and building out new space to keep up with an expanding business unit.

  1. Sourcing space- We will provide insight on the office space acquisition process as well as point out a few of the customary practices that may be surprising for those going through this for the first time

  2. Evolving project delivery methodologies- Various methods will be examined to determine what delivery method is most appropriate and efficient for your project, company structure and resources.

  3. Designing space- Space is influenced by industry sector and geographic region. In the Bay Area for example, our high-tech clients expect the design process to mimic the agile culture of their industry. We will address how this impacts the overall project delivery process.

  4. Incorporating green and sustainable practices- Sustainability today: Going beyond green buildings to eco districts. Taking a holistic approach to environmental sustainability and employee wellness to design spaces with non-toxic and sustainably processed products.

  5. Opening an International office for your company- We will discuss international cities and why Bay Area tech companies choose offices in APAC, Latin America and EMEA and discuss: 1) why the location might be attractive (e.g. talent, tax incentives, etc.) 2) local trends and customs to expect/anticipate from a real estate perspective and 3) best practices for forming the right project team, internally and externally.
